At CENIEH, equipment and laboratories are available to carry out the entire process of characterization of materials, especially archaeological, paleontological, anthropological and geological material related to deposits. This includes equipment and capacity to: - Specialists for the collection of samples in the field, field reports - Image analysis using optical microscopy, laser confocal microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) - Microanalysis by Electron Dispersive Scanning (EDS) through the use of SEM in low and high vacuum and in environmental mode (ESEM). - Image analysis and 3D reconstructions using Microcomputed Tomography (MCT) - Elemental analysis of samples through the use of X-ray fluorescence (FRX) and Optical and Mass Spectrometry (ICP-OES and HR-ICP-MS) with the possibility of Laser Ablation (LA) - Mineralogical analysis of samples through the use of X-ray diffraction (XRD) - Composition analysis by RAMAN microscopy and by Thermogravimetry (TGA / DSC) and FTIR. - Analysis of sediments using Robinson's Pipette, calcimetry, granulometry, etc - Rock and soils analysis with thin sections of rocks and micromorphology of soils.
