Open access
IPERION HS believes in open science and open publications
IPERION HS participates in the EC Pilot on Open Research Data (H2020) which aims to improve and maximise access to and re-use of research data.
IPERION HS implements Open Access EU strategy, participates in EOSC and contributes to FAIR heritage data.
Preferably, IPERION HS researchers will publish in open access (self-archiving and open access publishing).

Open Science in HS
Interoperability is key to development of heritage science at a global level. Interoperability of data, materials and procedures implies a wider adoption of the open science paradigm. For better preservation of the global heritage, which is one of the core missions of heritage science, researchers need to have open access to knowledge, in the form of heritage data, methodological procedures and results, instruments and reference materials.
Open access
can be defined as the practice of providing on-line access to scientific information that is free of charge to the reader and that is re-usable.
