MOLAB Greece: FORTH (GR)

Located in Heraklion, Crete, IESL‐FORTH is the main laser research centre in Greece, with internationally established research activities in the areas of Laser Science. In the context of Cultural Heritage (CH) science a major cross‐disciplinary research program has been built at IESL over the past 20 years, linking advanced laser technology and cultural heritage. Highlights of this research include laser conservation projects at the Athens Parthenon and the Acropolis Museum.

IESL‐FORTH is currently leading an initiative for establishing in Greece IPERION CH.gr a cross‐disciplinary Research Infrastructure, distributed across advanced facilities and specialized laboratories of proven scientific excellence offering access and servicing the cultural heritage (CH) research community.
