The National Gallery seeks to recruit a highly motivated individual to join the team delivering the One Gallery Accommodation Hub project, a major building project in the heart of the National Gallery. The jobholder will have specific responsibility for ensuring the safety of the collection (paintings and archival material) at the Gallery for the duration of this project. They will assist with monitoring shock and vibration, dust levels and any other environmental factors posing a risk to the collection. They will also have a key role in helping to develop and implement any mitigation measures required to ensure collections safety. Suitable candidates will have formal qualification to at least HNC level in conservation, preventive conservation, conservation science, engineering, facilities management or a similar relevant subject, or equivalent experience. The jobholder will be a member of the Conservation Department but will maintain a very close relationship with the Buildings and Facilities Department and have regular contact with the Scientific Department.
